Every year our members vote for the Branch Pub of the Year (POTY). This pub then competes with other Kent CAMRA POTY’s, to be awarded the Kent POTY. The Kent winner then goes forward, with other Regional winners, one of which will ultimately become the National POTY. The National winner will be announced in February of the following year.
The criteria for judging includes, Quality of Beer/Cider, Pub Atmosphere/Style/Décor, Service/Welcome, Community Focus, Sympathy with CAMRA Aims, and Value for Money.
For the second year running, our Branch POTY is The Bowl Inn at Hastingleigh, a good community pub near Wye. It only serves Kentish beers and supports local charities and events. The Bowl Inn is a basic pub sympathetically decorated with advertising memorabilia and has a nice, large garden.
The presentation took place on Saturday 8th June, this is the third time that the Bowl has won this prestigious award, having previously won in 2012 and 2017.
The Runner Up POTY is the Red Lion in Snargate
The presentation took place on Saturday 23rd June at the Annual Mud Summer Beer Festival
More information on both pubs is available on our Online Pub Guide
