KEEPING IT IN THE FAMILY, A CENTENERY CELEBRATION
The Red Lion at Snargate was the scene of Centenary Celebrations towards the end of 2011. The pub has been in the hands of the Jemison family since 21 Sptember 1911. They have kept the character of the place, so the public bar on the left is an unspoilt gem with its white marble countertop. On the right, the tap room was long disused and turned into a shop after the war, but was returned to pub use in the 1980's. The Red Lion is a great place for a drink and a prime example of how a small country pub can thrive with the right management.
